Scheduling
How do I reschedule or cancel an appointment?
Please call office location directly to contact a staff member.
Do I need an order?
Yes, from your referring physician before scan.
How long is my order good for?
Most orders are good for 6 months.
Can I use an out of state order or out of the country?
Yes, our front desk staff will request physician’s name, address, phone, fax and NPI#
Can I use an order from another diagnostic center?
Yes, patients often come into our center for better imaging quality, quick turnaround and low out of pocket cost.
What location can I fax order to?
Please go to our office locations page to find the fax number of the location you’ll like to be seen.
Can I walk in for x-rays?
We recommend you call the location before heading over; if an x-ray technologist is available staff will offer walk in on the spot.
Can I cancel or reschedule my test?
Yes, please call us as soon as possible. There is no fee for rescheduling.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please have a form of ID (e.g. driver’s license), your insurance card, and any pre-certification materials from your insurance provider. If you have a copy of your physician order, bring that as well.

Preferred Imaging offers quality care & accepts most insurance plans. No Insurance? No Problem!
Preferred Imaging offers simple and straightforward pricing to treat various illnesses and injuries at standard set rates. Please feel free to contact office location directly; we’ll gladly answer any questions regarding your insurance plan.
How long does it take to obtain an authorization for my scan?
To obtain an authorization from an insurance company it normally takes between 2 days to two weeks depending on the patient’s insurance policy
What insurances do you accept?
We accept most insurances including Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, Humana, Cigna, and Medicare. For a complete list, visit our Accepted Insurances page.
For hardship patients with financial difficulties we have discounted prices including X-rays starting at $50 and MRI or CT scans starting at $325.
Billing and Payment
Preferred Imaging offers pre-visit estimates following feedback from your insurance company. For patients without insurance, we offer a discounted self-pay price. Out of pocket prices are a lot less than hospital charges for diagnostic tests. Please feel free to contact any of our locations for an estimate.
What payment types do you accept?
Most major credit and debit card and cash.
When is payment expected?
Payment is expected at the time of service.

What is a TAX ID and NPI?
TAX ID is an identification number for tax purposes.
NPI or National Provider Identifier is provided to health care centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
Medical Records
What is an MRI? What is the difference between an open and closed MRI?
How soon will I get my results? Can I get a copy of the images?
The radiologist can deliver STAT reports within a few hours of your scan. The full report will be generated in less than 24 hours and films can be delivered upon request.
How do I get my report?
Records are available for pickup at any of our office locations or fax upon request.
In person in any of our office, you can fill out a written request form or fax us from included here. You can visit any of our locations to pick records.
How much does a CD cost?
A CD of your scan images will be given at no additional cost.
Patients requesting films a fee of $15 will be charged.
Can a family /friend pick up my records?
Yes, if they are listed on your Authorization to Release PHI form and proof of identification will be requested.
Will the radiologist speak to my referring physician regarding my results?
Yes, referring physician is welcome to call any of our office locations.
